finding wisdom in our wounding…
There is wisdom and resilience hidden in even the most painful of patterns, even when these patterns leave you trapped in destructive habits, despair or bad relationships. Together, we can find the wise intentions behind the your patterns so that healing can happen. Therapy with me is a judgment-free space to bring your sorrow, anxiety, anger and confusion without having to hide it or push through on your own. If you’re used to numbing out or criticizing yourself to get through the hard times – we’ll do it differently.
I am passionate about helping people build an authentic and meaningful life – and I know what it’s like to feel like such things are impossible. I’ve gone through therapy myself and I use all the tools that I share including talk therapy, mindfulness (meeting present-moment experience with compassion and curiosity), somatic therapy (tuning into the body’s wisdom) and an anti-oppression framework (understanding the systemic forces that shape the broader influences in our lives). Let’s find what works in your real life.
I bring two decades of meditation practice including nine years as a Buddhist monastic and an expressive arts practice into the work of psychotherapy along my own experiences of surviving cancer and being a queer, gender-fluid person. Outside of this practice, I teach mindfulness and meditation to people across North America and Europe.
Past clients have said I have a talent for hearing what’s being said behind the words, encouraging people to find their own goodness and sharing rich psychotherapeutic and spiritual processes in simple and practical ways.
